Chelsea Handler’s gay fans represent [photos]
Gay fans flock to wherever best-selling author and TV personality Chelsea Handler lands, and it was no different on Friday in Midtown.
Handler (top photo) arrived to a packed crowd at Outwrite Bookstore, the second time she’s drawn a crowd to the retail spot. This time, she was making up for a missed connection in June when she was supposed to hit Atlanta as part of a tour promoting her latest work, “Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me.” But illness forced the reschedule and left Outwrite staffers stuck at Chastain Amphitheatre with books to sell and no crowd to buy them.
Handler arrived in a rush on Friday, quickly took a seat and worked to sign books for the crowd that filled the store and stretched around the corner – just like her visit in March 2010. After an hour, it was off for a sprint to Chastain for the even larger gig.
“Lies” is a book written by Handler’s family, friends, guests on “Chelsea Lately” and other victims of her wit and pranks. She published her first book, “My Horizontal Life,” in 2005; her “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” is a New York Times bestseller.
