Debby Holiday’s ‘Key’ combats bullying [video]
Take control, gay teens. Live like you mean it. That’s the “Key to Your Soul,” the single by gay DJ John LePage featuring Debby Holiday that empowers LGBTeens to stand up and love in the face of bullies.
The Joe Gauthreaux and Brian Cua edit (video) is making the rounds and a soulful, powerful, gay-specific impact on the issue like only Holiday can deliver. Holiday teased us that the track was upcoming in our interview just before she kicked off gay Atlanta’s New Year’s Weekend, and LePage debuted it in Atlanta at Heretic’s Bear Invasion on May 3.
Holiday tapped the talents of an old friend to direct the video about a gay teen who learns to love himself. Her old friend, director-writer-filmmaker Del Shores of “Sordid Lives” fame, came up with the concept with Holiday. She is one of the stars of Shores’ upcoming “Confessions of a Trailer Trash Housewife,” which shot in Atlanta last year.
