Ben Cohen dishes, delights Atlanta gays [photos]
Retired sexy cuddle bear Ben Cohen returned to his part-time Atlanta home on Monday for a movie screening and fundraiser. And yes, he knows the gays think he’s hot.
The retired British rugger, who based his anti-bullying StandUp Foundation in Atlanta, was on hand for the screening of “Legalize Gay,” the documentary from former Atlantan Christopher Hines that explores up-and-coming LGBT activists and allies. Cohen joined with Brian Sims, the first openly gay man elected to the Pennsylvania legislature, and Campus Pride Executive Director Shane Windmeyer for a Q&A after the screening. Gay journalist Rich Eldredge from Atlanta magazine moderated the session.
Cohen didn’t hold back during the Q&A (video above), dishing about retiring for a cause, his nearly all-male Facebook following and his family. He returns to Atlanta on June 27 for Out in the Stands at the Atlanta Braves.
The event at Midtown Art Cinema was a joint venture between StandUp, Out on Film and Atlanta Pride. All three non-profits benefited from ticket sales to the sold-out (and mostly gay) screening.
