Ben Cohen lends jock power to ATL screening

Ben Cohen–yes, that former pro jock and current sexy cuddle bear–returns to his sometimes home of Atlanta next month to add a little star power to a movie screening and an issue he’s become known for–gay equality.
Atlanta Pride and Out on Film announced Monday that Cohen will attend the June 11 screening of “Legalize Gay” at the Midtown Art Cinema. The event is also co-sponsored by the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, the Atlanta-based charity he established to battle bullying.
The film explores the new look and feel of activism. It’s the work of former Atlanta Christopher Hines, who staged the world premiere of “Legalize Gay” at Out on Film last October. The screening next month comes as part of an extensive Stonewall Month calendar of events.
Cohen, no stranger to our Morning Fix, got a big dose of gay during Atlanta Pride last year. In May 2011, Cohen opened his acceptance tour in Atlanta and announced that we’d be home to his new foundation.
UPDATE: Tickets to the screening and panel discussion are $15. Buy tickets online to this rapidly selling event. You may be able to snag one at the door if they’re not sold out, but why risk it? Click the link.
