Black Pride puts Pure Heat in Piedmont [photos]

Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride festivities didn’t let up on bit on Sunday. A full day and night of brunches, shows and parties featured this year’s new crowning jewel, the Pure Heat Community Festival at Piedmont Park.
Hundreds gathered for a Sunday afternoon celebration that included two stages of entertainment, an outdoor picnic, exhibitors and vendors. Some packed light to stroll around for a few hours, others spent the day at the park soaking up sunshine, food, cocktails and community spirit.
The event was organized by Traxx Girls and the Vision Community Foundation, which provides meals, HIV education and testing, and women’s health initiatives.
