Cotillion tries on Hollywood for size [photos]
Sparkles, beads and sashes. Oh my! The gay men of Atlanta Cotillion found a natural fit by making evening gowns part of Saturday’s pre-ball party to raise money and excitement for next weekend’s annual Cotillion ball.
Along with cocktails, a silent auction and a raffle for Cotillion ball tickets came a veritable buffet of formal dresses at the ante-bellum style shop Miz Scarlett’s. A Hollywood theme invited the guys and guests to walk the red carpet and camp it up while mixing with the staff and shopping for that just-right Cotillion gown.
After all, it’s high time they make their final selections. Hundreds of men in dresses and their tuxedoed dates hit the Atlanta Cotillion XI Ball on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Foundry at Puritan Mill. After a full season of fundraising parties, they’ll be there to see this year’s class of “debutantes” and find out who’ll be crowned queen with the most money for AID Atlanta. Last year, Cotillion raised a record $171,026 for the HIV/AIDS agency.
