Evolution hosts Patrik-Ian Polk’s ‘Skinny’ victory
What’s better than gay filmmaker Patrik-Ian Polk taking the third-highest per-screen box office average for the weekend with the theatrical debut of “The Skinny”? Meeting him on Tuesday at the Evolution Project.
Fresh off the box office success he tweeted on Monday after a big weekend debut in Atlanta and D.C., Polk visits with Atlanta fans Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Evolution Project, Atlanta’s community center for black gay men. His mission? To inspire young hopefuls with the story of how he got his start and became the founder of his own production company and the creator behind “Noah’s Arc,” “Punks” and the loudly hailed new comedy “The Skinny.”
Ever wonder how directors, writers, and producers got their start? Well here’s you chance to ask the questions!
Filmmaker/Singer-Songwriter Patrik-Ian Polk (the man behind PUNKS and NOAH’S ARC) will be at Evolution answering your questions and giving us the scoop on his new film THE SKINNY!
The pitstop in Atlanta is just the beginning of a big month for Polk and the movie, which heads to more theaters throughout April. Check out the trailer for “The Skinny” above, and prepare your questions for the man himself.
