Gay icons profiled this week
GLBT History Month continues this week by spotlighting a writer, athletes, a politician and activists, among others.
The Equality Forum, a gay civil rights group based in Philadelphia, is spotlighting a gay icon each day in October. A video of the daily icon appears on the main page of Project Q Atlanta, while the group’s web site includes detailed information about the person.
Here’s the line up for this week:
Oct. 13: Playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein.
Oct. 14: Former Col. Margarethe Cammermeyer.
Oct. 15: ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero.
Oct. 16: Singer Melissa Etheridge.
Oct. 17: Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson.
Oct. 18: Director John Waters.
Oct. 19: Photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
