NFL stud Scott Fujita says gay player would be fine. The Cleveland Browns linebacker (top photo) insists that homophobia in professional football is a misperception based on a few people like 49er Chris Culliver, not a vast majority of players, coaches and managers who’d be fine with an openly gay teammate.

Madonna to present Anderson Cooper’s GLAAD Award. Word was already out that the newly out CNN anchor (second photo, left) would be awarded for finally going public with his orientation. But yawns turned to gasps when the group announced that his buddy the Material Girl (right) would be the presenter.

Cardinal admits gay advances; activists outraged over anti-gay record. Keith O’Brien, the Catholic cardinal forced to resign under accusations he came onto subordinate clergymen in his diocese, asked forgiveness for his sexual conduct. Gay groups would rather have an apology for “vicious and cruel language” he used to shame gays during his tenure.

What does baby “functionally cured” of HIV mean? A study hasn’t been published in a peer-reviewed journal, and some scientists question whether a child pronounced “cured” was ever infected at all. Nonetheless, the world is anxious to see if researchers can duplicate results of a Mississippi child who was put on antiretroviral drugs just 30 hours after birth and now declared “cured” at age 2 ½. If confirmed, the findings are not expected to be relevant for infected adults.

Rock band Train pulls out of Boy Scouts gig. The band (third photo) says it won’t perform a scheduled set at the National Scout Jamboree in July if the ban on openly gay scouts and leaders isn’t lifted by then. Will Carly Rae Jepsen make same call, maybe?

Taylor Kitsch goes gay for Ryan Murphy. The “John Carter” and “Battleship” hunk (bottom photo) has been cast as a closeted investment banker who later becomes a prominent AIDS activist in the HBO film adaptation of Larry Kramer’s play “The Normal Heart.” Kitsch joins gay actors Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons in the cast, as well as gay-friendly superstars Mark Ruffalo and Julia Roberts. Kitsch may be best known for looking great shirtless.

Spartacus ranks U.S. 38th in gay-friendly travel. The USA shares 38th place with eight other countries, including Aruba and Cambodia.
