What makes a book signing by HGTV sweetheart Sabrina Soto so gay? How about Atlanta’s “Better Mornings” hunk Brandon Rudat, gay photograpers and party planners, and a giant gaggle of other gay cuties at Midtown’s gay-owned Bobby Berk Home? Thought so.

Throw in some specialty drinks, fab furniture, kick-ass artwork and more than a few well-heeled fruit flies, and the Modern Life reception was nothing short of a gay A-List event on Friday in Midtown. Store owner Bobby Berk (top photo, left) welcomed guests to his modern design showroom, the diminutive dynamo Soto (right) was chatty and Rudat was looking studly in shorts while holding court with fans of his graffiti-inspired art.

Read our big gay interviews with Rudat and Berk in advance of the event.

Among the beautiful people, we spied event coordinator Bill Kaelin fluttering about making sure everyone was taken care of. We also spotted MISTER Center hottie Chandler Bearden, former Outwrite owner Philip Rafshoon, Out on Film power couple Jim Farmer and Craig Hardesty, Fashionado’s soon-to-be “Style” video magazine host Vincent Martinez, Nicole Paige Brooks sans drag, and HGTV’s own Atlanta designer Kerry Howard, to name just a few.

During the event, a copy of Soto’s latest book and a piece of Rudat’s artwork were raffled off to benefit Positive Impact.
