Friday, April 18
“Tennessee Queer” (top photo) opens in Atlanta. The comedy everyone is talking about gives you some regional love with the story of one man's attempt to make life better for the LGBT teenagers in his small hometown. Call it “Mayberry LGBT” in its limited engagement at Plaza Theatre, 7:30 p.m. each night through April 24. The Other Show offers the most unique professional drag cabaret in town with the singularly creative cast that always blasts your expectations @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m.
Augusten Burroughs finishes a week in Atlanta with readings and signings for Atlanta Writers Club. Tickets only, and you know this gay author will sell out @ Contemporary Arts Center, 6 p.m.
Ladies Lounge: White Party Edition. Wear white for this eighth anniversary party of the night that gets your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, scores of MSR ladies and the TraxxGirls promoters @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.
Bitch Please party. It’s the monthly throwdown that says, “Hey! Nobody does gay in Atlanta quite like the East Atlanta queers! Nobody!” DJs Ree de la Vega and Sam Rothstein @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.
Fur pulls all the guys onto gay Atlanta’s hot man-on-man dance floor, this week with DJ Sean Mac @ Heretic, 10 p.m.
Femme Fatale with Destiny Brooks and Justice Tyana Taylor puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

An Evening with Francine Reed brings Georgia’s “Queen of the Blues” – and Atlanta’s “Queen of Gay Brunches” – to the stage for one of her signature experiences @ Eddie Owen Presents, Dahlonega, 8 p.m.
The Happy Happy Stand-Up Jamboree at Sweetwater 420. It’s getting awfully gay up in the Relapse 420 Comedy Tent during this year's festival. Gay comedians Ian Aber, Gay Bob, Julie Osborne, Andrew Markle, Brent Star and more @ Centennial Olympic Park, 7 p.m.
Spring Swing puts the MetroGnomes stage ensemble from the LGBT Freedom Bands to work for your enjoyment. Food, drinks, dancing and great music @ Hudson Grille Midtown, 8 p.m.
