Package prepping for weekend underwear parties
With gay Atlanta providing at least two excuses to wear underwear in public this weekend—you know you were thinking it anyway—we thought it prudent to provide some tips.
Among our very favorite favorites on the list of Best gay things to do in Atlanta this weekend are Saturday’s UltraViolet Blacklight Underwear Party with DJ Randy Bettis at Jungle (photos, view more from last year) and the Soakin’ Wet Sunday “Man”niversary at Cockpit.
One comes with glow paint, the other with wet jock straps, PBR specials and a first anniversary celebration. Yes, both allow you to change when you get there.
But please, check yourself beforehand with these tips gleaned from our storehouse of photo galleries.
Wear something that puts your look over the top. Think sunglasses. Think suspenders. Think… whatever this guy is wearing (second photo).
No, not that. Well OK, that, too. But we’re talking about the underwear. You’d think this would be obvious, and we hope it is. But just in case, know that stains aren’t pretty under the black light. They show, girl. Really.
Shake the dew
And keep it clean all night. A pee spot on even the hottest guy (third photo) can turn the conversation from “all about you” to simply “talking about you.”
We love Jungle, the club kind. We don’t love jungle thatch, the unruly kind that sprouts from the fancy skivvies you’re planning to wear. Nobody wants to see that. Clip it.
Besides packing your junk just the right way, you don’t want to be cruising the club all night forced to hold your phone and cash in your hand. Add a pair of tube socks (fourth photo) or find a pack where there will be room for your other needs, too.
If you like it, put a ring on it
You know people will be sneaking peeks, so consider pumping up the package with a cock ring to give them something good on which to focus their gaze. A little lift and support never hurts, and plenty of underwear manufacturers like Andrew Christian offer built-in straps and cup helpers, too.
You glow, girl
Jungle’s not changing out its house lights from regular to ultraviolet bulbs for nothing, people. Make the most of the black light by avoiding gray and black and popping for a pop of color – a little or, well, a lot (bottom photo).
