Who knew? Prop 8 judge is gay himself. Prince Harry has amazing abs, NY Senator pushes to strip military funds to pursue “Don’t Ask” cases, “Housewives” lesbian kiss for sweeps and other shockers.
• Did you know the federal judge in the Prop 8 trial is gay himself? District Court Judge Vaughn Walker (top photo) says his sexual orientation is a non-issue in the case.
• U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) pushing a block to the Pentagon’s “Don’t Ask” funding. Her proposed legislation would take away dollars spent on pursuing and prosecuting openly gay members of the military.
• Former Penthouse cocktail waitress is suing for alleged lesbian come-ons. She says her female boss and a male bartender sexually harassed her at the jiggle joint.
• San Francisco Schools consider gay support program. During a time of huge budget cuts, the school board is considering a costly expansion of services, support and instruction on issues of sexual orientation.
• Like mother, like son. Prince Harry named “Top Gay Icon.” Well, only after pics of his abs in play (second photos) hit the ‘net. Apparently, red hair is “very, very trendy in the gay scene,” a U.K. magazine editor says.
• Costa Rica’s elects first female president, partially based on her opposition to gay marriage. Looks like her administration won’t be following in neighboring Mexico City’s footsteps on the issue.
• Gay Indians get their own Valentine cards. India’s largest greeting card company will roll out the line for the first time after last year’s historic decision to decriminalize homosexuality.
• Iowa lawmakers to press bill to ban gay marriage Monday. Meanwhile, a statewide poll suggests 62 percent of Iowans don’t think it should be on the legislative agenda.
• Gay and lesbian youth make up 25-40 percent of child suicides, a tidbit left out of a Dallas Morning New article on the topic Monday.
• Spoiler alert: Which two “Desperate Housewives” characters will share a lesbian kiss? We won’t say, but one of them talks about it here. Not so shocking: It’ll be just in time for May sweeps.
