Southern Softpaw delivers first pitch [photos]
The Southern Softpaw League kicked off its brand of competitive yet fun softball on Saturday with Opening Ceremonies and a full slate of games.
The gay league, which was founded in 2009, plays its 7-week fall schedule at Southside Park in Atlanta. Games continue on Sept. 24 with weekly Saturday games through Nov. 19, except on Oct. 8 due to Pride weekend.
Opening Day included music from DJ Joey S, singing of the national anthem, a ceremonial first pitch and a performance by Life University Cheer. The league closed its first day of competition with a beer bust at Woofs.
