TakeOver pumps up Joining Hearts [photos]
If ever there’s an excuse for a cocktail party, Joining Hearts Weekend delivered the perfect setting. So the gays of TakeOver Atlanta took their upscale event to the swanky W Midtown on Friday.
We last caught up with TakeOver – the creation of friends Adam Ellis, Ken Folds, Mark Grantham and Ryan Hughes – when it went decidedly downscale with Mardi Gras at Flip Flops in February.
But this gaggle of gays didn’t just pack the lobby level bar and patio of the W. They also raised funds for Joining Hearts, which unfolded at the Piedmont Park pool a day later. Some 25 percent of bar sales during TakeOver were donated to Joining Hearts.
