image Contributing blogger Troy Meyers is a certified personal trainer and sports conditioner with more than 10 years of experience. He owns Atlanta-based JockBoyLocker.com and contributes to the site’s Lockerroom Blog.

If you’re concerned with your blood pressure, the first thing to do is consult with your doctor and listen to the advice dished out.

Most likely, you’ll be told to make some lifestyle changes such as eating a more nutritious diet that emphasizes vegetables, fruits and grains while reducing fatty, high sodium and processed foods. Another recommendation will undoubtedly be to participate in a regular exercise program that could include walking or cycling.

We’re makng porn in our boxy Midtown home

imageHi. We're your gay neighbors. And by the way, don't mind the sometimes loud grunts, naked men, cameras and large vats of lube around the place. Sometimes, we lend our house out for porn shoots.

Yes, that's what a couple in Midtown might be telling their own version of Wisteria Lane now that they've been outed by a local gay nightlife glossy as holding porn shoots in their 3,300-square-foot home. Not that there's anything wrong that -- we just don't have the room in the Project Q Atlanta headquarters for all of that.

Stadtlander drops out of District 6 race

imageCharlie Stadtlander, one of three gay candidates vying for the District 6 post on the Atlanta City Council, has apparently dropped out of the race.

The DeKalb County school teacher withdrew from the race after Steve Brodie announced his campaign Thursday morning. Stadtlander tells Southern Voice he always intended to drop out if Brodie entered the race, though Stadtander never said so publicly when he announced his campaign in early January.
