Out on Film hosts ‘Man 2 Man’ world premiere
The busy bees at Atlanta’s LGBT film festival are teasing us again with the latest confirmed film for its fall celebration of all things gay and cinematic. This time, it’s the world premiere of former Atlantan Christopher Hines’ latest testosterone-fueled documentary.
“Man 2 Man: A Gay Man’s Guide to Finding Love” (photo) comes from the filmmaker who created festival favorites in years past, and Atlanta gets to see the results of his latest labor of love first at the Out on Film world premiere. For a peek into the the documentarian’s inspirations, read our interviews with Hines when he brought “The Adonis Factor” and the “The Butch Factor” to town.
This time, Hines again asks some burning questions of his interview subjects:
“More than 80 percent of gay men say they want to be in a loving, lasting relationship, but only about a third of them are. What is the disconnect? And how can more gay not only find, but keep ‘Mr Right’?”
“Man 2 Man” is the fourth confirmed film in the Sept. 29 – Oct. 6 festival lineup so far. Out on Film previously announced HIV early-years flick “We Were Here” and “Wish Me Away,” the documentary about country singer Chely Wright coming out; as well as acclaimed Israeli director Eytan Fox’s musical “Mary Lou.” The all-volunteer nonprofit festival is also celebrating a recent $2,500 grant to boost its efforts this year.
